Celtic Connections: Glasgow, mid-January through early February. I wrote my 1st web page (shudder) on the 2nd Celtic Connections. Simply the best festival there is. 2009: January 14-February 1.
Skagen Festival: Denmark, late June. 2008: July 3-6.
Summerfest: New Bedford, MA, early July. 2008: July 5-6
Winnipeg Folk Music Festival: Early to mid-July. 2008: July 10-13.
Vancouver Folk Music Festival: Mid-July. 2008: July 18-20.
Quimper en Cornouaille: Late July. 2008: July 19-27.
Calgary Folk Festival: Late July. 2008: July 24-27.
Folkfestival Dranouter: Belgium, early August. 2008: August 1-3.
Sidmouth Folk Week: Devon, England, early August. 2008: August 1-8.
Lorient - Festival Interceltique: Britanny, early August. A great festival, but 90 degrees in the shade. 2008: August 1-10.
Edmonton Folk Music Festival: Early to mid-August. 2008: August 7-10.
Tønder Festival: South Denmark, late August. Book early. 2008: August 28-31.
ICONS Festival: Formerly known as the Stonehill Irish Festival, now in Canton, Massachusetts, September. 2008: September 12-14.
Boston Folk Festival: Boston, mid- to late September. Produced by WUMB-FM, Boston's folk radio station. 2008: September 13-14.
Nordic Roots Festival: Minneapolis, mid-September.
Sebastopol Celtic Music Festival: Late September, in California.
Celtic Colours International Festival: Cape Breton, early to mid-October (Columbus Day week). 2008: October 10-18.
