- Director of the Information Visualization Lab at Indiana.

- Sherry Koshman

- Visualization work at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab at the U of Maryland is led by the prodigious Shneiderman.

- Visual information framework for enterprise data management.
- The Hive Group
- demos of the Hive Group's mapping software can be seen for amazon.com, newsisfree, and iTunes.
- kartoo
- Metasearch engine which plots Web sites in a sort of geographic arrangement. Powers ujiko.
- Many Eyes
- "For shared visualization and discovery". Users submit visualizations, and boy have they ever!
- Mooter
- Search engine with a visual clustered result.
- Newsmap
- A visual Google news aggregator.
- searchCrystal
- Visual representation of metasearch results, and metaformat results.
- Semantic MEDLINE
- Summarized PubMed results and presents information graphically.
- SmartMoney.com
- Among many financial products and services, SmartMoney.com developed SmartMoney Maps for data visualization. The mapping has been applied in other domains, notably HistoryWired at the Smithsonian.
- Stamen Design
- The projects page includes examples and demos, many with Digg collaboration.
- Thinkmap
- Thinkmap respresents data in 3D navigable structures of different kinds. The Web site illustrates applications for digital archives, knowledge management, visualizing search results, and several other applications, including the Plumb Design Visual Thesaurus.
- TouchGraph
- Visual link pattern mapping (among other things).
