Acronyms! with Simmons SLA

GSLIS Student Lounge. Lunch provided!
So, Kjerstan, Julka and I have talked about this event being some sort of game that's fun and demystifies acronyms/terms such as KM, CI, W3C, IEEE, SEMANTIC WEB, IR, TAXONOMY, etc. We could set the terms in advance, people could send us terms in advance, or people could add terms on the fly. The event could involve someone picking a term out of a hat and reading the definition on the back, while introducing themself. Or it could be a multiple choice quiz. Or a version of Balderdash where everyone puts their guess of the definition on a slip of paper and we all vote on which is the right one. The ultimate goal is really community building. But we're talking about giving away annual memberships in SLA and ASIST as prizes (though the prize could really be a raffle, instead of a winner type of prize). I'd love feedback on these ideas.
