Speed Geeking II
May 1, 2007 at 6:00 pm
Kotzen Meeting Room
Please RSVP via YARR! by Wednesday, April 25.
Speed Geeking is our annual career event. We've taken the idea of speed dating and combined it with a career panel -- this event is highly interactive and quite lively.
In speed geeking, small groups of students meet with one professional librarian (aka geek) at a time to gain insight into what it's like to be a working librarian. You can ask questions about their job, patrons, professional development or get tips on library school. Whatever you're curious about.
Speed geeking is pretty fast-paced: your group will meet with a new geek every 10 minutes. Afterwards, there will be some time to mingle and ask additional questions. Naturally, we'll have some snacks.
We've got five great geeks lined up this year, covering reference, systems and collection development. They include a subject specialist and two folks from public libraries. Find out more about them below.
