Goldilocks' Oatmeal

A perfect hearty autumn meal to start OR end your day. This oatmeal is easy to make, but tastes fit for a princess.
Ingredients
- A sprinkle of hemp seeds
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of nutmeg
- Dash of half & half or heavy cream
- 1 handful of chopped walnuts
- 1/4 honeycrisp apple, thinly-sliced
- 1.5 cups of water
- 0.5 cups (dry) regular steel-cut oats
- ~1 tbsp light brown sugar
Instructions
- Bring water to boil in a medium-small saucepan.
- Once boiling, reduce to low. Add oats and salt.
- Cook until thick to your liking (usually ~10-15 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Turn off heat and let stand for a few minutes. Then, add dairy and brown sugar. Mix well.
- Serve in a bowl. Top with chopped walnuts, hemp seeds, apple slices, then nutmeg—in that order.
