Haitian Patties (Haitian Pate) – Spicy, flavorful, delectable beef stuffed in puff pastry dough. These treats originate from Haiti and can be found sold on roadside food trucks, local bakeries and grocery stores. This quick and easy appetizer comes together as quickly as they sail off the table. Ridiculously Delicious!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare the egg wash and set aside.
Cook the meat for 3 minutes on medium-low heat in a skillet with the Haitian seasoning better than bouillon base, salt and pepper, diced onions and mixed peppers.
Do not cover.
Transfer to bowl. Cut the puff pastry in even pieces. Fill the middle of the puff pastry with about 1 tablespoon cooked ground beef. Seal the edges with eggs wash using a pastry brush and fold the moist edge over. Secure the edges by pressing down with a fork.
Place the patties on a baking sheet and bake on 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
You can buy frozen premade dough instead of making it from scartch
You can freeze the patties. To protect it again freezer burn, I recommend wrapping it in plastic wrap, then aluminum foil, and last, place it in a freezer bag. Although it seems extreme, it does help to keep the patties fresh once reheated.
