History & Collections


The national library of Mali, the Bibliotheque Nationale, was founded in Bamako in 1962. The library contains approximately 18,000 volumes including many periodicals. The library serves as a copyright center for all national publications. The Bibliotheque Nationale also publishes works by Malian students in Mali and abroad.
