Abstract: The present work originates from two different aspects. The first aspect concerns the interesting properties of some interrelations of four classifi-cation systems (UDC, MSC, PACS and LC classification). The other aspect stems from a problem which deals with difficulties occurring in the information retrieval of documents closely classified in different classification systems.
