Font Activation
Select one or more font(s) in the font list.
Use one of the following ways to activate a font:
- Choose Font > Activate.
- Click the checkbox next to the name in the Sources or font list.
- Click the "Activate" button below the font list (Applies only to a selection in the font list).
- Right-click on a selection either in the Sources or the font list and choose "Activate" from the contextual menu.
- Use the keyboard shortcut ⇧ + ⌘ + A.
You will be warned when you are trying to activate one or more font(s) whose PostScript name is identical to that of an already activated font. Please follow the instructions in the warning window. This warning can be turned off in the Monitoring Preferences.
Please note that activating many fonts at once may take a long time. You can set up Linotype FontExplorer X to warn you if this is the case. For more information, check the Monitoring Preferences.
If you click on the checkbox left of a Set which contains activated and deactivated fonts in the Sources List, all fonts in this Set will be activated. To reverse this behavior, thus to deactivate all fonts in this Set, hold the option (⌥) key while clicking on the checkbox.
