Monitoring Preferences
- Warning if incompatible applications are running: If enabled, Linotype FontExplorer X displays a warning message when detecting a running program that is possibly causing problems, such as Extensis Suitcase or FontAgent Pro.
- Warning before activating more than a certain number of fonts: The more fonts you activate at once, the longer this action takes. Enable this option to make Linotype FontExplorer X display a warning message if you try to activate more than the specified number of fonts at once.
- Warning before deactivating more than a certain number of fonts: The more fonts you deactivate at once, the longer this action takes. Enable this option to make Linotype FontExplorer X display a warning message if you try to deactivate more than the specified number of fonts at once.
- Warning before exporting more than a certain number of fonts: The more fonts you export at once, the longer this action takes. Enable this option to make Linotype FontExplorer X display a warning message if you try to export more than the specified number of fonts at once.
- Warn before activating duplicate fonts: With this option enabled, you will be asked if you really want to activate a font whose PostScript name is identical to one of an already activated font.
- Warn if importing fonts from a removable media: With this option enabled, you will be asked if you really want to import fonts from a removeable media (CD, DVD, File Server). When it's ejected, FontExplorer X will lose access to these fonts and no other application can use them.
- Growl notification support: If enabled, Linotype FontExplorer X will output several messages via Growl. If you do not have Growl installed, you can download it by clicking the "Download" button. Then follow the instructions on the Growl website.
Activating a font with a PostScript name of a font which is already activated can confuse the system and all applications.
