Configurations
Linotype FontExplorer X provides the option to save the current configuration to a file, which can be imported later to reset the Linotype FontExplorer X to this defined state. For example, if you need to always use a specific configuration for a customer, you can use a configuration file. By using this option, you can ensure that you always work with the same set of fonts activated for your customers. Note that the configuration files only contain the settings, not the fonts. Thus, deleting fonts from your system cannot be undone by restoring a configuration file.
To save a Linotype FontExplorer X configuration:
Choose File > Configuration > Save.
Specify an appropriate name for the configuration and click "Save".
To load a Linotype FontExplorer X configuration:
Choose File > Configuration > Load.
Select a configuration (.fex) file and click on "Load".
Specify which parts of the configuration file you want to import (Sets, Smart Sets, Font request rules and Preferences).
Importing the preferences does not alter the Manage fonts function. If you import the preferences, you still need to check this in the Advanced Preferences.
