Detecting Fonts in Documents

Linotype FontExplorer X provides the option to scan documents of different types for the used fonts. With this function you can investigate multiple documents at once and see a list of all required fonts. You can then see which of these fonts are already activated on your computer, which are deactivated, and which are missing.

Documents of the following types can be scanned: rtf, rtfd, pdf, eps, svg, svgz, pages, key, indd (CS2)

Choose File > Detect fonts in documents.

Locate and select the document(s) that you want to investigate and click the "Scan" button.

Mark one of the scanned documents in the left part of the window.

In the right part of the window, you can now activate or deactivate (if possible) any listed font.

If you want to open the selected document, click on "Open" after selecting the application you want to open the document with.
