Connecting to Servers

Connecting to Zelda

Connect to Zelda to use BigFileVault or BobWhite.

  1. Click on your Desktop to make sure the Finder is active.
  2. Select Go → Connect to Server from the menu bar (Command + K).
  3. Type afp://zelda.simmons.edu for the Server Address.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Type in your Communications Lab username and password. This is the same username and password you would use to log into the Communications Lab computers.
  6. Select the appropriate volume from the list.
  7. You may now access the volume from your Desktop or the sidebar of a Finder window.

Connecting to MCBFS1

Connect to MCBFS1 to use Vol1, Vol2, or Vol3 or your Student folder.

  1. Click on your Desktop to make sure the Finder is active.
  2. Select Go → Connect to Server from the menu bar (Command + K).
  3. Type afp://mcbfs1.simmons.edu for the Server Address.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Type in your Simmons username and password. The is the same username and password you would use to log into the library computers.
  6. Select the appropriate volume from the list.
  7. You may now access volume from your Desktop or the sidebar of a Finder window.
