OPERATIONS UPDATE
The Coke machine has been refilled! Cups for Mockler will be restocked today!

NOTE FROM MARY D
I have been told by students that they like the quotes I put in this update, so the pressure is now on to keep finding them!! It is clear that you are in the toughest part of the semester, but there is only 5 weeks to go til Fall semester ends. Everyone can’t wait for the Thanksgiving break, so here are my two quotes for this week -“Continuous effort-not strength or intelligence, is the key to unlocking your potential”-that was by Winston Churchill and my other one is from Mario Andretti-“Desire is the key to motivation, but it is determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal, a commitment to excellence –that will enable you to obtain the success you seek”. You are all doing great, and keep up the good work!!

FALL GRADE INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
Faculty are not required to submit grades for the fall term until December 28 at noon. Some grades may be posted earlier and they will appear on your SOAR account as they get turned in.

DWC Cocktails & Panel Discussion - "The Portrayal of Working Women in the Media" - Nov. 16th
From the constant rehashing of the NY Times' "Opt Out" article to Desperate Housewives; and from The Apprentice to the Martha Stewart trial, working women have been in the spotlight and drawing attention on television, in magazines and on bestseller lists. But are we drawing the right kind of attention? Is it pushing the state of women in corporate America forward or creating divisions within our own gender that are holding us back?

Thanks to Linkage, Inc., who is generously providing us the space, we're able to jazz up our monthly cocktails with a bit of discussion on a very controversial issue. So grab your colleagues, clients and friends and come participate in an interactive panel discussion as well as meet many of the high-powered women attending Linkage's Women in Leadership Summit (Nov. 15th-17th). DWC members in all chapters and their guests, are invited to attend just the DWC Panel & Cocktails or all or part of the 3-day conference at special discounted rates. We're pleased to present the following group of expert panelists:
* Dawn Curtis Hanley, Executive Director of Marketing, Boston Magazine
* Pat Kreger, Public Affairs Director, Viacom Boston Television, (CBS TV)
* Deborah Marlino, Professor, Simmons School of Management
* Renee M. Landers, Professor, Suffolk University Law School
We hope you can join us for a little bit of networking and a whole lot of thought-provoking discussion.

When: 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Where: The Hyatt Regency Cambridge, 575 Memorial Drive
Cost: $35.00 online early-bird special ($20 Students; $50 walk-ins)

Visit www.DowntownWomensClub.com or

Student Clubs

Student Clubs at the SOM are run by and organized by SOM students. The MBA Office Staff assists with the transition from one year to the next by gathering names of interested students and by setting up each club in WebCT.

International Student Club
The International Student Club will have its first meeting on Nov 17 (Wednesday) from 11:45 to 12:45. The club will serve as a support group to Internationals. It will focus on discussions about cultural differences and what impact they have on International's experience at school, personal and professional life, what challenges and opportunities they pose, and they can be approached. Internationals from all programs are welcome to attend, as well as Americans who are interested in the issues (having the other perspective would definately be beneficial). The club is going to meet once a month, but depending on interest that could be changed.
