Midterm & Final

You will be presenting your midterm topics next class (10/24). A complete description of the project, criteria, groups and topics, see the midterm page.

Prepare a written one paragraph explanation of your topic selection for the final project. You will pass in your paragraph to me at the beginning of class. All updates and deadlines about the final project are posted on the final page.

Good Food Site

Use what you learned in class today and last week about images to continue marking up your own version of Good Food. Feel free to use the demo site that you played with today as an example, but your site should be your own.

• Add your own logo or logotype to each page.
• Add the images for each page. There should be plenty of images to work with from the images folders in the site. You may also download images from sites like Flickr. Many of the images on Flickr are licensed with the Creative Commons license and are free for you to use non-commercially and with attribution.
• Complete your navigation system.

From now on, you're the designers. Now is the time to start thinking about how you might want to change some of the markup or layout of the site:

• You might want to change how the navigation is ordered.
• You may or may not want to add a Home page to the layout
• Do you want a sidebar with links?
• Are there more pages in the site? You don't have to make the pages, but you can certainly make "stubs" for them.
• Is the home page too wordy?

Blog Assignment

Choose one website. Assess that site’s use of web graphics, by making reference to the material on web graphic use and guidelines that we covered today. List out where the site meets or doesn’t meet these guidelines. Do the graphics on this site serve a purpose? If yes, how and why? If no, why? Be specific.
