Flashback to the Snake Club - Orpheus Performing with Eurydice

The Return from the Underworld

This story has all the zazz of a summer blockbuster…a super-talented musician marries, his girl dies, he suffers and determines that he will face death to bring his lover back to life. Or maybe we might tell the story of a beautiful young woman who is seduced and marries a self-centered musician who loses interest as soon as he possesses her; her accidental death allows her to regain herself but to her chagrin her charismatic husband wants her back and everyone (as usual) falls in with his wishes. But wait, perhaps the story is of a group of women that have rather strong bonds with snakes…a musician captivates them all, but only one of their number is chosen as his consort, jealousy all around, and a snake is sent to punish this renegade from their group. After his vain ordeal to rescue his bride, the rest of the group exact revenge on our musician by rending his head from his body and sending it to float down the River.

The Trilogy will premier March 2008 in Fall River at Bristol Community College Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery.      Home
