As a dance musician, Catherine plays for Scottish country dance, English country dance, and contras in the Boston and New England area. She has competed in Scottish fiddle contests and travelled nationally and internationally as a Scottish country dance musician. Her regular venues are the Monday night RSCDS dance at the Canadian American Club in Watertown, MA, the Wednesday night ECD dance in Arlington, MA, and Monday night contras at the Scout House in Concord, MA, as well as other dances in the Boston area. She is frequently a staff musician at Pinewoods Dance Camp in Plymouth, MA, as well as other dance weekends, workshops, and English and Scottish balls around New England.


She plays with Saucy Bess, Fiddle Fancy, and Wisp of Thistle, all Scottish country dance bands; Jump Start, a contra band; and as a musician friend with the Bare Necessities, an English country dance band. She also plays with an assortment of other musicians in pick-up bands of all kinds. She is a regular at the Scottish and Québecois sessions at the Canadian American Club in Watertown, MA
