    Personal Statement:

As a scholar, I believe that integrating research, teaching, and practice is central to building and translating knowledge into change: be it practice, policy, or in wider social and civic environments. My research focuses on integrating issues of disability and aging, specifically focusing on persons aging with disability and understanding how service systems and public policies address their needs and concerns. As an instructor, I emphasize skill development and critical thinking with the aim of helping students prepare to actively engage with their communities and make meaningful contributions as professional social workers. In the field, I am always a scholar-practitioner learning from and working with stakeholders who know best how policy is lived.
