Dr. Saad Eskander
Dr. Saad Eskander, Director of Iraq's National Library and Archive, spoke at Simmons on Oct 22nd. SCoSAA, SIR, and the Warburg Chair co-sponsored the event.
After taking his position in 2003, Dr. Eskander rebuilt the library from the ruins left behind by looters and arsonists in the Iraq War. His diary was recently hosted by the British Library (See more here: http://www.bl.uk/iraqdiary.html)
