    • Andrew Flinn is a visiting faculty member, focusing on Archives and Oral History
    • Flinn is giving a talk on 31 March 2011
  3. Special Elections for new SCoSAA webmaster
    • Nominating for the position via SurveyMonkey
    • Floor was opened for nominations and then directed to SurveyMonkey
    • Email to be sent out with link to elections
  4. Spotlight on Professional Development through LISSA
    • Students can get back 75% of costs for conferences, memberships, etc.
    • Form A is due to the LISSA Treasurer by 11 February 2011
  5. Upcoming Conferences
    • NEA Spring Meeting: April 1-2, 2011, Brown University, Providence, R.I.
    • SAA Annual Meeting: August 22-27, 2011, Chicago, Ill.
  6. Upcoming Events
    • LISSA GSLIS Trivia Night: 4 February 2011 at the Bell in Hand, Boston.
    • NEA/SCoSAA Job Shadow Program
      • Registration begins in late February/March
      • Placements will begin in March
      • If students enroll in the program, it is the responsibility of the student to be in contact with the archivist in terms of scheduling and changes in scheduling once the student is placed
    • Now is the time to begin applying for Summer Internships
    • Now is the time to be applying for scholarships
    • Other events to be announced
  7. Call for Volunteers to become SCoSAA board members
    • Current board is graduating at the end of the term
    • Elections will be held at the end of the Spring

  • Google Calendars
    • Internal calendar for use with scheduling and planning of events/meetings/etc
    • Calendar listing said events embeddedon SCoSAA page
  • Increased use of Twitter
    • Granting @scosaa access to the officers so they can retweet interesting links and ideas
    • Live Tweeting events so those not there can participate [ADM Note: this brings up the idea of GSLIScast; we ought to see if we can’t get them to podcast whatever events we do]
    • Use of twapperkeeper to archive tweets or another app to schedule tweets
  • Events
    • Need for interactive events with practical applications and hard skills
    • Career Panel in spring?
    • Archives specific technical workshops in the techlab
    • Tours

    • Miranda Rivers, LISSA Treasurer, discussed the Professional Development fund
    • Fund is good for conferences, professional memberships, workshops, continuing education.
    • Deadline for application is coming up quickly, near the end of September
  6. SAA*DC2010 Report
    • Abraham Miller attended
      • Enjoyed the conference and recommends the experience
      • A lot of energy is required because of long days and many panels
      • Invaluable networking experience and has contacts across the country
    • Stacie Williams attended
      • Similar experience to Abraham
      • Attended Simmons GSLIS Alumni event
      • Recommends that everyone attend a conference
