Minutes of SCoSAA Meeting on October 28th, 2005

The new SCoSAA officers are Krista Ferrante, President, Candice Brown, Vice President, and Heather Soyka, Webmaster.

There is still an opening for the ARMA liaison position if anyone is interested. If so, a vote will take place. The preservation trip to New Orleans is still being discussed, but no advancements have been made just yet. Krista will keep us informed.

Leigh attended the NEA conference in Burlington, but was not available to comment. The treasurer of the NEA was in attendance and made comments about the recent board meeting. The NEA is interested in what attracts students to joining the NEA because new membership has been low. Krista will post information from the conference on the listserv and we will be able to make comments.

There will be a tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Musuem on November 2nd at 1pm. The tour has been recently limited to 10 people. A sign-up sheet was passed around for those attending and another for those interested in a possible future tour that would take place in the evening after work hours.

There will be a tour of the Howard Gotlieb Archive Center at Boston University on November 14th at 1pm. The tour will be of the exhibits and will discuss the process the archive center uses for preparing their exhibits, etc.

A possible lecture given by the President of the SAA, Robert Pearce-Moses, may take place on 10/31 or 11/3 while he is in town. More information to come. All are encouraged to attend if possible.
Heather has created new potential designs for the website. Once the password issues are fixed, she will post the new designs online and take a vote.
