Canadian Archival Resources

According to the site, The National Library of Canada is "a federal cultural agency responsible for collecting and preserving Canada's published heritage so that it's available for present and future generations of Canadians." The National Library and Archives of Canada: This new agency will see the convergence of the rich collections and recognized expertise of the National Library of Canada and the National Archives of Canada.
Copyright and Fair Use Information, Stanford University
Includes links that provide users with access to an array of primary materials concerning fair use and copyright (e.g., statutes, federal opinions, regulations, and treaty texts) and to current legislation, legal cases, and issues. Current links also take users to basic copyright information; National Information Infrastructure bills, testimonies and position papers; specifics of the Michigan Document Service case; and library-specific data, as well as a wealth of related information including an overview of copyright law. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
According to the site, NARA's mission is to "ensure[s], for the citizen and the public servant, for the President and for the Congress and the Courts, ready access to essential evidence. NARA has several excellent databases, two of which are:
• The Archival Research Catalog (ARC) is the online catalog of NARA's nationwide holdings in the Washington, DC area, Regional Archives and Presidential Libraries. 124,000 digital images can be searched in ARC; and
• The Microfilm Publications Catalog is a searchable web database of NARA's almost 3,400 numbered microfilm publications.
National Coalition for History (NCH)
NCH is the official electronic voice of the National Coalition for History, a Washington D.C. based non-profit educational organization. The history coalition seeks to provide leadership in history-related advocacy, serves as the profession's national voice in the promotion of history, and acts as a clearinghouse of news and information of interest to history-related professionals.
National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC)
NHPRC is the Federal agency that promotes the preservation and publication of American historical records. This site provides, among other things, up-to-date information on the Commission, its staff and programs, guidelines and application forms for prospective applicants, information about funded projects, work of the Council of State Historical Records Coordinators, links to archives and documentary editing projects, and copies of publications.

The National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections is a free-of-charge cooperative cataloging program operated by the Library of Congress.
