_____________________________________
In Greek Mythology, sirens were depicted as half-woman, half-animal creatures; the lower half usually was seen as either a fish or a bird of prey. As the sirens sang perched atop their cliff, the mesmerizing and seductive tone of their songs would lure sailors to their rocky deaths. Over the years, literary and artistic depictions of Sirens have evolved to a more human-like appearance, the power of their song growing ever stronger. In 1989, when a group of musically-inclined Simmons students founded the Sirens, they chose wisely. Unlike our mythological counterparts, our singing does not harm patrons, though we always aim to mesmerize our audiences! Our performances are infused with music, laughter, and fun! _____________________________________________ We are available for small, large, public and/or private concerts.
