Note: Without proper excuse, late assignments would get 5 points deducted per

II. Lead Discussion: (10%)
There will be a lead discussion session during which each student, being assigned to study a particular qualitative research method or data collection technique in detail, will present or lead discussion on that topic.
III. Quizzes: (20%)
a. Quiz 1 (Feb 21, 2005,
from 6:00-6:40), (10%)
b. Quiz 2 (April 11, 2005, from 6:00-6:40), (10%)
III. Term Project: Developing a Research Proposal (22%)
During the
semester, you will be learning to develop a research proposal on
a topic that you have chosen and considered to be important to Library
and Information Science Research. There will be informal reports of your
proposal development status prior to the final presentation.
Details will
be available on the project sheet.
IV. Participation (8%)
Attendance is
expected for every class. This is an intensive class in research methods
and students need to attend each session. In the unaviodable event of an
absence, students should inform the instructor and make arrangement to
pick up lecture notes and handouts. The participation of the course includes
class attendance, engaging in class discussion, and involvement in presentations
and other in class activities.
