This is an evolving digital library whose goal is to bring a wide range of source materials to a large audience.
Weakness: Vast majority of students and researchers may not yet have access to digital content.
- California digital Library
Produced by the regent of University of california.
One of the largest digital libraries in the world providing scholarly materials and services to help use them.
Weakness: The site presents no apparent weakness.
- American Memory from the Library of Congress
By the Library of congress.
A site that provides free and open access through the internet to written and spoken words, sound recordings and images that document the American past.
Weakness: The site may have too much information, including non researchable collections such as the "Federal Theater Project.
- The NSDL- the national Science Digital Library
By The national science Foundation.
The Nation's online library of resources for science, technology, engineering, maths education, and research. Provides specialized portals of selected resources,
e.g. the Middle School portal for maths, science and technology presented by Eisenhower National clearing House.
Weakness: The site may only be very useful to schools with digital technology capabilities.

A searchable database presenting digital images from the Library's collections including manuscripts, historical maps, photographs, etc.
Weakness: The site covers more of the NYPL system than it does the digital collections.

This an online subsription based resource providing bibliographic collections from major publishers, Journals, and Magazines.
Weakness: Access limited to subscribers.

This is a memebership digital library initiative foster new research and develop standards.
Weakness: Site offers little technical content.

to the traditional print theses and dissertations.
Weakness: Site is audience specific and narrow in focus.

This a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through the reconstruction.
Weakness: Site offers few navigational features and hyperlinks.

and historians of science to make available through the web, the form and content of the cuneiform tablets dating from the beginning

Weakness: Site has well defined objectives and does not go beyond.

Weakness: Simple Site with limited links.

Weakness: The Site is dense and contains IMB evaluation pops that come up before you get a chance to visit.

Collects astronomical research quality images and makes them available to the astronomical community and general public.
Weakness: No apparent weakness, user friendly.

Provides a focal point for digital library research and technology for the State of Texas.
The website fosters pioneering research on the theory and application of digital libraries.
Weakness: Over 90% of the main page is taken up by an unlabled image instead of useful hyperlinks.
