Performance is evaluated on the basis of class attendance, four assignments,  one midterm quiz, one term project (research proposal), and participation. Check the course schedule for the due dates.

Note: Without proper excuse, late assignments will be subject to a 5-point decline per day after the due day. Assignments are due at the beginning of class on the due date.

I. ASSIGNMENTS: (55%)

II. PROJECT, QUIZ, AND PARTICIPATION: (45%)

 

  1. Term Project: Developing an Evaluation Research Proposal (25%)
  2. During the semester, you will be working with a fellow classmate to develop a research proposal on a topic that you have chosen and considered to be important to evaluation research in Library and Information Science. You will be called upon in class to make informal reports of your proposal development status prior to the final presentation.
     

    Details will be available on the project sheet.

     

  3. Midterm Quiz: (10%)
  4. The mid-term quiz will take place during the 6th class session. It will test the basic conceptual knowledge gained in the first five sessions of the course.
     

     

  5. Class Participation and Presentation (10%)

Attendance is expected at every class meeting. This is an intensive class in evaluation research methods and students need to attend each session. In the event of an unavoidable absence, students should inform the instructor and make arrangements to pick up lecture notes and handouts. Class participation includes attendance, engaging in class discussion, involvement in presentations and other in-class activities.
