Horn Book Guide (GSLIS Library, 1989- )

Not selective as its parent journal, this spinoff  reviews all hardcover trade books published in the United States for children and young adults.  Nonfiction is organized by subject category, not by age level; there is a separate section for YA ("older fiction").

Rating System: Each book receives a 1-6:

Great source which includes over 80,000 fulltext reviews. User can limit by reviewer rating and by grade level including a category for young adults.

Noted for its straightforward reviewing style and its ability to review way in advance of publication, YA titles are included in its second part "Children's Books" after the section for adults. Entries include grade level.
