PRSSA Hosts Annual Trip to Omnicom in NYC

Posted March 17th, 2014

BOSTON (March 4, 2014) — Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at Simmons College is hosting its annual trip to New York City to learn about the Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, and Advertising fields at Omnicom, the leader in global advertising, marketing and corporate communications, on April 4 from 6:30 a.m. to midnight.

In New York City, representatives from the Omnicom group RAPP, one of the world's leading full-service marketing agencies, will talk to students about the PR, marketing and ad industries, and answer questions. The evening reception includes a NYC Simmons Alumni event at the Office of Marina Maher Communications from 6–8 p.m.

"As a first year trying to figure out my major, going to Omnicom was definitely beneficial," said sophomore Leah Kossak. "I was able to see the corporate side of PR and marketing, and decided to declare after that. The alumni event afterword demonstrates the great network Simmons provides students with after graduation. Whether you're attending as a freshmen or senior, the Omnicom trip can be beneficial to everyone, even those not in the PR/marketing communications field."

Transportation will be provided by Crystal Transportation. The bus will depart from the Simmons Academic Campus at 6:30 a.m. and will leave New York City at 8 p.m. to return to the Simmons Academic Campus. The trip costs $10 per student to cover the cost of transportation.

If students are interested in registering, they should contact PRSSA Co-Presidents Hayley Collins at hayley.collins@simmons.edu or Chelsea Keyes at chelsea.keyes@simmons.edu. Spots are filling up fast.
