Brownie Stawberry Trifle

Submitted by Holly Ledoux

This is a very simple, yet delicious dessert that can be made in an infinite amount of variations. I love to use brownie because it is such a rich, dominant flavor that pairs well with strawberries. This recipe is not gluten free, but you could use a gluten free brownie mix for the gluten free option.

In order to make the trifle you must bake bownies, mix up some pudding, and then put them all together. I will take you through all of the steps.

This is a homeade recipe that can be altered to your liking.

Ingredients

  • Betty Crocker "Fudge Brownie" Mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 containers Cool Whip
  • 2 lbs. of Strawberries (usually found in 1 lb. containers)

Instructions

  1. Start with making the brownies. You follow the directions on the box that say mix the three ingrediants in a large bowl with the brownie mix.
  2. Pour the brownie batter in an 13x9 pan and cook on 350 for 28 minutes.
  3. While waiting for the brownies, mix the Jello Mix and milk in a large bowl
  4. Beat the mixture for 2 minutes
  5. Let stand for 5 minutes
  6. Once the brownies are baked and cooled you can begin to create the trifle. In an extra large bowl or glass trifle bowl begin to layer ingrediants. I usually start with a layer of brownies, then pudding, then strawnerries, and finish the layer off with cool whip.
  7. Fill the bowl with layers until you reach the top, and garnish with strawberry slices
