Animated Story Project

Update Class Website Navigation

  • Create a page on your class website called story.html. This page will serve as the "process book" for your animated story project. All assignments related to the animated story should be added to this page.
  • Add a link in your class website navigation on each page to link to your Animated Story project page (story.html)

Topic Selection and storyboard Due

Pick your animated story topic:

  • Prepare a one paragraph description of your animated story project.
  • Include the text of your piece.
  • Add each to your story.html page

Create a storyboard for your project:

  • Create a storyboard for your project. You may use any method that you like. If the storyboard is a sketch, then scan it.
  • Link to or include the storyboard on your story.html page

All information and deadlines about the Animated Story project are posted on the Animated Story page.

Blog Assignment

Read the New York Times feature Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek. Be sure to read it on a desktop computer. This is a long article, but it's interesting (and doesn't have anything to do with web design).

Think about and assess the use of multimedia to enhance the story telling. What did they do well? How did the graphics go with the story. If you can, look at the site on some sort of small screen device and see if the experience is different.

Once you've read the feature, read this article about the making of it.

Write in your blog about both sites. This post should be roughly 400-500 words.
