On this site you will find information about my work as a professor of Information Organization, a core area of Library and Information Science.
I am a Professor at Simmons University's School of Library and Information Science (SLIS). Before arriving in Boston, I received my MLIS and Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Information Sciences (now the School of Computing and Information).
Before moving to Cambridge, Mass., I lived in Pittsburgh, San Francisco, DC, Atlanta, rural Kentucky, Northern California, and Fairbanks, Alaska. I am originally from Southern Maryland.
