Unit 4: Authority Work and Access Points

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • Understand what an access point is
  • Choose appropriate access points for resources
  • Understand the variety of bibliographic relationships among entities
  • Represent various relationships in bibliographic data
  • Understand the basics of authority work
  • Understand the process of establishing an authorized name
  • Understand the need for and place of works and expressions data in bibliographic descriptions
  • Apply the basic rule for establishing authority data and access points for works, expressions, and agents
