II. PROJECT AND PARTICIPATION: (40%)
1. Term project: Working with ILS for Library Datasets (30%)
Throughout the semester, you will work in teams in creating data sets for a
scenario-based library. This includes working with Koha, EOS.web, and
LibraryWorld to create functional
records through circulation module, cataloging module, and serials module. The
team will present the system in front of the class during the last two class
sessions.
Details will be available on the project sheet.
2. Class Participation and Presentation (10%)
Attendance is expected for every class meeting. This is an intensive, hands-on class on library automation systems and students need to attend each session. In the event of an unavoidable absence, students should inform the instructor and make arrangements to pick up lecture notes and handouts. Class participation includes attendance, engaging in class discussion, involvement in presentations and other in-class activities.
