Hi! Thanks for taking the time to explore my website and learn more about me. A Cleveland girl to my core, I came to Boston to attend college and, well, never left. I have both a B.A. in English and Women’s Studies and a M.A. in Children’s Literature from Simmons, and I’m currently working towards my Masters in Library and Information Science and Archive Management, also at Simmons. (I’m going for the hat trick. I get some sort of special award or plaque for this triple crown achievement, right?)
In my years before children, I worked for a variety of nonprofits, including Simmons University, as the Coordinator of the Writing Tutoring Program, and Radcliffe College, where I worked for the Graduate Seminars and the Consortium for Women’s Studies.
When my oldest child was born, I left the world of paid employment to stay home and put my Children’s Literature degree to real-world use. After successfully seeing my youngest off to kindergarten in the fall of 2011, I’ve worked for a variety of churches in an administrative role, which has allowed me both the flexibility to be the “point-parent” and utilize my organizational, administrative, and creative skills.
I’m a casual but prolific baker, mystery book enthusiast, unrepentant TV-watcher (British mysteries, crime procedurals, cooking and home remodeling shows – I’m here for you all), huge Star Trek nerd (Picard is my ride or die Captain, in case you were curious), and fan of the Oxford comma. Also, my coffee game is strong.
I currently live in the suburbs west of Boston with my wife; an ever-shifting number of our 4 children, exact numbers depending often on whether college is on break; and our 2 dogs – a middle-aged, occasionally cranky Boston Terrier named Mabel, and her incredibly enthusiastic little brother, a black pug named Pierre.
