Like my computer science class, my Introduction to Graphic Design class (Communications 140) is new territory for me. This class fulfills Mode 1 (Creative and Performing Arts) Professor Susan Larocque teaches the class.
In this class we are learning what graphic design actually is. We do projects and then have critiques. We use our environment for inspiration and also to learn about design as a form of communication.
I like this class becuase it is completely different from any class I have ever taken. I usually go for the writing courses and, for once, I am not spending all my time in front of the computer writing endless papers. It's nice to do something with my hands and create an object or something. Plus, now I know how to use a t-square and an X-acto knife.
This is the only other Modes of Inquiry class I have taken.
