About Vivid

Vivid "Viv" Young (she/her; pronunciation) is an LIS professional and humanities educator with numerous professional and creative projects.

Through her professional and creative works, Vivid is an advocate for open access, intellectual freedom, Jews against colonialism, and intersectional transfeminism.

Beyond that, Viv is a sister, daughter, aunt, trans Ashkenazi diasporist, artist, and writer. She received her Bachelor's of Arts in English and French from Amherst College with the Five College Native American and Indigenous Studies Certificate. Before pursuing her Master's of Library and Information Science at Simmons West with a concentration in Libraries and Librarianship, Viv served for three years as a middle school humanities teacher and literacy instructor in Springfield, Massachusetts. Prior to that, she served as the Instructional Technology Specialist for the Five College Blended Learning and Digital Humanities initiative at UMass Amherst. She has written brakhot meditations (also available as a PDF in zine form upon request) for the publication Tefillat Trans, and created the published artwork for the month of Tishrei in the 5784 Radical Jewish Calendar.
