Markup Assignments
Finish marking up the PEW Research page in HTML.
Mark up the TextMate Manual
Save the
textmate-manual.txt
file (Option + Click to download). Review the text to discern what the content is. Completely mark up the page with semantic HTML. Make sure to use proper nested lists and heading levels as well as making use of the HTML sectioning elements.When finished, save the file as
textmate-manual.html
. Validate the file and fix any mistakes. Upload the file to your week1 folder on your website and make a link to it from theweek1.html
page.-
Complete your week1.html page. It should contain the following items:
- Summary of class
- Any relevant links from the notes
- Link to your practice PEW Research HTML page
- Link to your TextMate Manual HTML page
- Description of your average day online (see below)
Writing Assignment
Write about your average day online
Write a few paragraphs about what you internet usages looks like on an average day.
- What types of devices do you use to browse websites?
- What times of day do you use each device?
- Where are you when you use them?
- What types of websites do you look at?
- What types of activities are you trying to accomplish? (getting the news, research, getting directions, shopping, etc.)
- How do you connect to the network? (Wired internet, wifi, 4G, etc)
Outline a typical day. Write about how your usage changes throughout the course of the day and why. Was there a time that you switched from one device to another to complete a task? If so, why? Was there a time when you couldn't do something on the device you were currently using? What was it and why?
