The people at Simmons are very diverse in different individual
personalities. On the other hand, as a campus on the whole, there
is a low percentage of ethnic minorities. Because of this, I felt
that I would love to become more involved in organizations that would
promote awareness of anything about my culture and other people's
cultures. Of the cultural organizations, I joined ASA, which is the
Asian Students Association, promoting the culture of various Asian
ethnicities, and IMSA, the International Multicultural Students Association,
which broadened the spectrum of promoting to celebrating ethnic diversity
of all people.
Aside from wanting to be involved with Simmons culturally, I wanted
to be involved with Simmons as a whole, so I joined CAB, the Campus Activities
Board, which brings basic entertainment to the campus, without any
specifics.
