I have always wanted to be a writer - ever since I was a little girl. My parents read book to me when I was a little girl and the interest in wanting to write books for future younger children has never left me.

There are two options for the English major - the Writing Option, or the Literature Option. For both options, there is the requirement of both

• ENGL 121 - Shakespeare
• ENGL 210 - Critical Interpretation

The other class requirements depend on your chosen area of study. Personally, I am taking the Writing route and requirements for that would be

• literature before 1610
• literature from 1600 - 1800
• 19th century literature
• American literature before 1600
• two literature electives
• two writing courses

Even though I chose the Writing Option, I still will be pretty well-versed in the literature aspect. It feels as though it makes me well rounded and knowledgable for my future story lines. The classes are intense and the professors are excellent. English AP hasn't failed me yet for these courses!
