Internship COMM-370 and COMM-380
Simmons Department of Communications interns earn their credits through a combination of classroom and field work. In 2010–2011, more than 30 Department of Communications students participated in fieldwork internships at several Greater Boston organizations, including: Harvard University Athletics Department, New England Cable News, Teen Voices Magazine, Cone, WGBH TV, WCVB TV, WHDH TV, ClearChannel radio, Art New England Magazine, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel, Her Campus, Harvard’s Kennedy School and 360 Public Relations. Several students earned job offers from their internships.
Students Alexandra Sirotovich and Suvanna Goddard interned at Teen Voices, an organization which mentors young women in the journalism field. Senior Maura Benton worked with the Fairmont to help promote the hotel’s many features, designing social media campaigns to attract more customers. Senior Kassandra Lane served as a graphic design intern for the department, designing digital signage for the university’s spring sports.
