My Introduction to Crew

I had always had it in my head that when I got to college, I was going to try rowing. Never having been very athletic, or for that matter, never having any athletic ability of any kind, I was anxious to try something new, to maybe "discover" an ability that I never knew I had! So one day, tucked into a packet of various notices and papers from Simmons I had recieved during the summer before I was to begin there as a freshwoman, I noticed a flyer that said "Athletes play. Winners Row!" That did it, I was going to try my hand at rowing! A couple days after fall orientation had begun, there was to be a meeting for all interested members. A little nervous, but definitely interested, I went to the sports center for the informative first meeting, where we met our coach, Nik, and the varsity team captains. I was on my way!
