Self Improvements!
Besides all of these new experiences that
were taking place in my life, the physical and mental aspects were amazing. For the first
weeks of crew, I couldn't walk without being in pain. My body ached like
it had never ached before!! But I noticed as the weeks and months went on, how
incredibly STRONG I had gotten! My body was in the best condition it had ever
been in. As well as a physical boost, my mental state of mind was getting one as
well. Crew had brought out stamina in me that I didn't think I possessed, which made
me feel like a stronger person. I have heard so many times, "You're on the crew
team? You mean you actually wake up that early in the morning everyday? Wow, I could
never do that!" I love hearing that, because it makes me realize how truly dedicated
you have to be to do crew. My self-esteem has definitely benefited, especially
since I never considered myself a "sports person"!
