Boston is truly the college student's heaven. With 1 out of every 4 people in the city a college student of some kind, there are plenty of us around and a ton of places to go for fun. Unfortunately, like I mentioned before, many places require a 21+ ID, which is a bummer but just a fact of live here in the good ol' Puritanical US of A. Below are some places I've found worthwile for the 18+ crowd . . .

If you love pool, incredible video games, prizes, comfy seating and FUN,
then Jillian's on Landsdown Street is the place for you. My friends and I have come here
for big parties, small gatherings, good food and a whole lot of laughs and it is 18+ and no
cover charge. There is a bar, so it's a good place for a mixed age bunch. Sure, it may
seem a bit juvinile at first, but, believe me, you only have so long to act like a silly
kid with your friends . . .

The Middle East, in Central Square in Cambridge is a bit further than
Landsdown, but is really worth the hike. Jump on the Red line to go hear
some fabulous music, dance yourself sweaty and meet really cool, diverse
people. A kind of small club feeling with live music, inexpensive covers and 18+.

A whole bunch of clubs have specific nights of the week that they are
18 or 19+. I've been to The Roxy, Karma Club, Sugar Shack and Avalon when I was younger and I had a lot of fun. However,
BEWARE of the cover charges!! Expect to pay a minumun of $15
to get in the door. You're not (supposed to be) drinking, so they really
charge you for it.

Finally, my long and painful knowledge of Frat Parties. When I first came to
Simmons, I spent quite a lot of time in a certain Fraternity-Delt Kappa Epsilon,
commonly known as DKE. It was the most humiliating, disgusting and unhuman
experience of my life. The Greeks around Boston (primarily MIT Frats) lure
first-year women into their houses with free drinks, good music, and lots of
cute boys. DON'T BE FOOLED! When my father told me Frat boys were no
good, I didn't believe him, and I suffered the consequence.

I'm not saying each individual person in a Fraternity is a horrible human being,
but they are in an environment where they don't HAVE to be good people. In fact
they are ENCOURAGED to behave badly to fit in. If you take good care of
yourself, your friends, go with the right attitude and NEVER, EVER spend the
night, it can be kind of fun. The two lesser evils are Delt Upsilon and Delta Tau Delta.
