I wrote this poem at the end of my first term at Simmons
and it was later published in the college magazine Sidelines.

				Boston

				This place, my space.
In crowded infinity I have run to you
Through the wooded haven of my
				Innocence.
				The light of
	      				    Bright
	      					  Shone
				Shivering on me, crouching
				Bound in tangled Velvet rope.
				Soft
      				     Softly rubbing, the stirring of my anxiety;
Anxious in my place of safe
For the danger of my own.

				My existence has been
	      				    Amplified
Reflected And bounced off the city
Walls of Boston Her purple skies and
				Charles Blue.
Here, I have found a place of rest.
Trusting in my life to recur every
				Morning of Clarity,
I have found faith in the ground my
				Ancestors tread.
				And love.
				I have found love.
				Laughing Precious Glorious Love
A pure joy and celebration of me.
	      				   Love
From my Sisters who move with me
				Through my accepted Reality.
				Our journey, a convergence in
	      				Magnification
Purposeful Patchwork of minds, souls, spirits,
				Imagination-Our gifts to each other
				Are our delights in difference.

				Here in this Place
				My Space
I have found the courage to
       				      Live.

I found a home in Boston and a place to grow into myself. We all have so many
different aspects that make us who we are and Boston has an experience that helps to develop
nearly all of them. As well as learning in an academic setting that is remarkable and supportive,
you will have the opportunity to explore your environment and learn more about who you are through
your experiences outside the classroom.

After living in Boston for a few years, I have broken the city down into three categories:
