With the help of the Simmons Study Abroad Office, I found a wonderful program called
InterStudy based in Medford, just outside of Boston. Through InterStudy I was able to
choose between five different colleges in London. I ended up deciding to go to Queen Mary
and Westfield College, located in London's East End.

I can safely say that deciding to study abroad was one of the best decisions of my life.
I made the best friends of my life, saw places I had only seen in famous paintings and
pictures, and learned, most of all, how brave and capable I am to find a home, even an ocean
away from my origins. My friends were Portuguese, Spanish, Belgian, Indian-British,
Pakistani-British, American, Sudanese and German. It's amazing to know I have friends in all
those countries, from so many different backgrounds, and we still keep in touch . . .

So, I have divided London up into these three categorties, for your information and
enjoyment:

Queen Mary and Westfield College is one of the branches of London University.
It is in a diverse school with some of the best people I met abroad attending.

The East End is an area of London my Mother (and I) cringed at the first time we
read about it. Fortunately, it was after I chose to go to QMW, or I might not have
picked it. Despite the way it originaly sounds, the East End is a wonderful, multi-cultural,
and (sometimes) even beautiful part of the city. You just have to know where to look . . .

London Entertainment is so vast and varied, I would break the Internet if I
attempted to list it all here! However, here is a handful of some of my "favourite"
(The Brits are always adding extra vowels to words) things to do, see and eat in my
home across the Sea . . .
